Climate Science is a topic of great interest to many of us but you might not know of this great place, the Climate Museum! Read below and SIGN UP DIRECTLY WITH THEM!
Since its launch, the Climate Museum’s public art campaign Beyond Lies has connected with audiences around the world, mobilizing the power of art to educate the public about fossil fuel disinformation and empower individuals and communities to take action.
The Beyond Lies poster campaign was created in collaboration with illustrator Mona Chalabi and with guidance from journalists and scholars who have studied the fossil fuel industry’s deceptive practices. For decades, Big Oil has used destructive, dishonest PR tactics to delay the clean energy transition while increasing fossil fuel combustion, causing massive ecological harm, economic cost, and loss of human life. (For example, fossil fuel particulate matter alone causes 8.7 million deaths per year.)
Awareness of the industry’s disinformation policy, which has now come under Congressional scrutiny, is increasing. The art- and community-centered, media literacy approach of Beyond Lies has resonated strongly with the public, providing an accessible pathway into civic engagement on this urgent issue.
