The NYC Science Research Mentoring Consortium invites alumni to join us for dinner and a SciCafe talk at the American Museum of Natural History on Wednesday, March 6th.

• 5:30pm - Dinner: Get to know fellow alumni over pizza, games, and crafts!
• 7-8pm - SciCafe: a popular after-hours event brings together inquisitive minds for an informal evening of conversation about cutting-edge science topics with experts from the field. 

This month's SciCafe is "The Dirt on Soil" with guest speaker Jo Handelsman, Director of the Wisconsin Institute of Discovery and former Associate Director for Science at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy under the Obama administration. She will ground us in a discussion on diversity in microbial communities and the effect these microbiomes have on human health and soil environments.
