2026 NYC Pathways to the Ph.D. Conference is designed to support college students, recent graduates, and postgraduate students in exploring and preparing for STEM PhD programs. This in-person conference will provide participants with valuable insights into the PhD application process, strategies for developing competitive applications, and key distinctions between STEM Master's and PhD programs at MIT. 

Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about MIT’s graduate programs and the resources available to support their academic and professional journey. 

Eligibility: First-year college students, sophomores, juniors, seniors, recent college graduates, Master's students interested in graduate studies in the sciences. We encourage community college students to apply! 

Note: This conference is in-person only, we do not have travel awards available for housing/accommodations/travel and we cannot provide online options to attend this conference. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at the conference.

Networking Event: Once the Pathway to the PhD conference is over, we will be hosting a networking event for STEM professionals (nonprofit leaders, academics, industry professionals) in the NYC area. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the relevant section below.
