Through a grant from the Pinkerton Foundation, HIRES provides an advanced STEM research opportunity to New York City students with little or no access to high-quality STEM education experiences!

HIRES is a paid summer research program at The City College of New York, where high school students do real science. You'll work with faculty mentors, analyze real data, and explore environmental and climate questions that matter while building skills that prepare you for college and STEM careers. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

- SAT, ACT, N.T. State English Regents scores are expected to meet the criteria found here

- Academically strong, highly motivated students 

- Passionate for STEM 

- Students who are currently enrolled or have completed Algebra 1&2 with a minimum average of B, and/or pre-Calculus 

BENEFITS: 

- $1,000 summer stipend 

- Faculty-mentored research 

- GIS, mapping, and data skills 

- 3 pre-college or college credits
