Job duties include:

  • Update an existing EndNote database by entering sources and carefully transcribing (or, where possible, pasting in) the Curator’s reading notes, carefully noting page numbers.
  • In consultation with the Curator, track sources and prepare an annotated bibliography. If required, perform archival research and provide accurate notes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, an undergraduate- or graduate-level program focused in anthropology, Asian studies, museum studies, archival studies or a related field.
  • Experience that demonstrates research competence.
  • Knowledge of EndNote program or other database programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in anthropology, Asian studies, museum studies or a related field.
  • Experience compiling an annotated bibliography.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to move about the Museum campus

The expected salary for the Asian Ethnology Intern is $20/hour. This position is overtime-eligible.

Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience.
