Program Coordinator at Black In Marine Science (BIMS)

Black In Marine Science (BIMS) is a global advocate for diversity and inclusivity in marine science. Committed to amplifying Black voices, BIMS inspires the next generation and addresses underrepresentation in the field. Through events, programs, and innovative research, BIMS creates an inclusive space for the development and contributions of Black individuals in marine science.

We're looking for a Program Coordinator to help support BIMS under the direct supervision of the Chief Science Officer. This job can be done remotely, from anywhere in North America, with a strong preference for those on the East Coast time zone.

Skills & Experience

• -A Bachelor's degree
• -Proven experience in program coordination and event management.
• -A background in ocean sciences or environmental conservation is preferred.
• -Familiarity with non-profit organizations and program administration.
• -Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• -High self-motivation for independent and team-based work.
• -Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, Notion, QuickBooks.
• -Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• -Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
• -Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• -Budgeting skills and financial acumen.
• -Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• -Able to work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Eastern Time Zone.
• -Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in marine science.

Compensation & Benefits-

• - $70,000-75,000 annual salary.
• -100% health insurance premiums (medical, dental, and vision) for employees after 90 days.
