Whitney M. Young, Jr. Scholarship Program

The New York Urban League's 2024 Whitney M. Young, Jr. Scholarship ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 will be awarded to college-bound students starting college in Fall 2024. Deadline February 29.

Eligibility Requirements:

New York City Residents - Applicants must live within the 5 Boroughs of NYC

Racial/Ethnic Minority Heritage - Applicants must identify as having at minimum 50% African American/Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and/or Native American/Indigenous Heritage

Of excellent character and proven leadership ability, with a demonstrated commitment to community service and extra-curricular activities

Classification - ONLY graduating seniors, recent high school graduates / High School Equivalency Diploma recipients will be considered

Accepted as a full-time and first-term matriculating freshman at an accredited college or university in pursuit of a Baccalaureate or Associate degree for Fall 2024

Applicants that have previously enrolled and/or taken classes, even if not completed, at any institution of Higher Education are ineligible for this scholarship award - this does not apply to Dual Enrollment Credits reflected on High School Transcripts.
